Shakiel’s engaging teaching style and ability to make complex matters simple have drawn students to his courses for over two decades.
Born and raised in the US, Shakiel understands the American-Muslim dynamic and delivers his courses in a context that resonates with his students.
He’s an entrepreneur by profession and has graduated from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College with a BBA in Business Administration.
He completed post-graduate studies at the Umm-ul-Qura University in Makkah al-Mukarramah receiving an Associate’s Degree with honors. He continued his studies at the College of Shariah at Umm-ul-Qura University.
In 2006, he founded FKAD Institute, and in 2011, he founded the NYC Muslim Center, the largest Islamic center in NYC, and turned it into a mega-center that includes multiple branches such as FKAD Institute, The Wellspring Schools, Uplift, the Hatebusters, Angels and more. Recently, he founded the Jesus Son of Mary Center in Tampa, Florida, and continues his efforts in presenting Islam to the American demographic.
